The Importance of Charity & Giving Back

Re/Max Realtron was founded in 1985. We opened our brokerage with two registrants, Richard Pilarski, our only salesperson and me, Alex Pilarski, the office manager. In the subsequent 33 years we have grown to 800 sales associates and become one of the leading firms in the Toronto real estate market place. We are very proud of this achievement, but we wouldn’t have been able to do it without one specific core value, giving back to the community. Without our community and its great people, RE/MAX Realtron would not exist. We continually strive to do work which reflects our values of giving back in our daily operations and this culture trickles down to our staff and agents which then positively impacts the people we service.

Our brokerage is extremely proud of our partnership with our 2 major charities, The Sick Kid’s Foundation and the Breast Cancer Society. Together with Sick Kids, we share the same motivation to improve the health of children all around the world. It is a painful sight to witness children impacted with health problems. Being a parent myself, I cannot imagine the pain of seeing my children with a serious illness. Richard and I believe it is our obligation to help children conquer their illnesses so they can blossom and reach their full potential.

Being the top donating brokerage to SickKids once again in 2017 and remaining as a Miracle Office was a special honor. This accomplishment has meant more than any real estate award we could ever achieve. It shows that by staying true to our core values we can positively change our community. With over $156,000 in donations to SickKids in 2017, we’re working extremely hard to surpass that amount in 2018.

RE/MAX Realtron has also built a strong relationship with the Breast Cancer Society. Having been an active donor since 2002, we want to end breast cancer once and for all. Breast cancer damages the lives of so many people every day. Approximately 40,000 women and 400 men die each year as a cause of breast cancer. This year, an estimated 182,800 women and 1,400 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Our brokerage is proactively looking at new ways where we can increase our donations every single year.

We continually encourage our agents to join us in assisting these charities because our jobs go far beyond selling and buying real estate. As community experts on real estate, it is our moral responsibility to also look after the well-being of the communities we serve. At RE/MAX Realtron, our goal is to help people. Assisting them with their real estate needs is just one facet of what we do.

We often forget that we are all part of something greater. Our belief is that the community is one big family. As a family, our obligation is to take care of each other and especially those in need. At RE/MAX Realtron, we aren’t just realtors looking to sell homes, we’re also a friends, family members, and loved ones. If we work together, there is no disease or sickness that can continue to hinder us.

We promise that RE/MAX Realtron will continue to support these charities and strive to make our communities better and healthier.
